The EF Excellence Award in Language Teaching recognizes outstanding language teachers from around the world.
The theme for the EF Excellence Award in Language Teaching is “Promoting Cross-Cultural Understanding Through Language Learning.” All full-time language teachers are eligible to apply for the award, regardless of the language or the level that they teach. The application asks teachers to describe learning activities or experiences that they have designed to promote cross-cultural understanding among their students.
These learning activities could be in-class activities, after-school projects, school clubs, or immersive learning experiences (e.g., pen pals, study travel, and exchange students). Selections will be based on the quality and creativity of teachers’ language learning activities and the extent to which these activities promote cross-cultural understanding.
Entry is free and open to residents of Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Uruguay, Costa Rica, Chile, Argentina, Ecuador, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Korea, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Russia, Spain, Switzerland, Rumania, United States, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Italy, Kazakhstan, نيجيريا، Portugal, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, الجزائر، Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovakia, Turkey, United Kingdom, and Venezuela who are full-time language teachers aged 18 years or over.
Winners of the EF Excellence Award in Language Teaching will be invited to New York City for a Global Summit. EF will fully fund winners’ transportation and summit costs.
EF Education First will cover the costs of the winners’ roundtrip flight, local transportation, three nights’ accommodation on an EF Campus, meals, and visits mentioned in the program.
